The Stockton Ports saw their season come to an end on Friday with an 8-2 loss to the Modesto Nuts. The Midland RockHounds will need to win the next two games to avoid elimination after losing Game Three, 9-0.

The Ports fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and were down 6-0 in the third. Starter Evan Manarino allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings. Four of the runs were earned.

Stockton managed just seven hits. Skye Bolt homered and singled and drove-in both Stockton runs. Mikey White also had two hits.

The RockHounds couldn’t generate any offense in their loss to the San Antonio Missions. Midland had eight hits — including two from Max Schrock and two from J.P. Sportman — but they couldn’t push across any runs.

Starter Grant Holmes allowed five runs in 4.1 innings. Three of the runs were earned. He struck-out one and walked two.

Midland will take on San Antonio on Saturday and will need to win to stave off elimination.
