The Mesa Solar Sox got their first Arizona Fall League victory on Wednesday with a 9-4 win over the Scottsdale Scorpions. Oakland Athletics prospect Sheldon Neuse provided the big blow for the Solar Sox, hitting a grand slam in the seventh inning that took a 5-4 Mesa lead and stretched it to 9-4.
Neuse had a huge game, collecting two singles to go along with the grand slam. Neuse scored three runs. He played shortstop and started two double-plays.

Tyler Ramirez hit lead-off for a second straight game and went 0-4 with a walk for a second straight game, as well. Nolan Blackwood made his AFL debut in the ninth and worked around a two-out single to close out the win. Blackwood struck-out two. Below is video from Kimberly of Blackwood recording the final out.
